I know they cause problems, the rangers at the woods near our home have spent years and a huge amount of sweat removing vast amounts of them. But they’ve left a few – and at this time of year, I’m glad they have.
Rhododendron – not one of nature’s shrinking violets – excuse the pun – but glorious when in full sail.
I like them too, if correctly positioned where there is enough space, and kept under control. I’ve inherited a few… hope I won’t regret keeping them.
Umm, well if it was me I’d employ vigilance and have the hack-saw at the ready – just in case.
Beautiful and glorious indeed..I love them – pity they go so mad!
Easier to appreciate them when you’re not responsible for their control I suppose, but they give me a thrill.
Very beautiful Rhododendron photos. They are in bloom now in Finland.
I’d love to see them there 🙂
They are glorious at Sandringham at the moment, just road after road and there is also a Rhododendron Drive, very close to Sandringham House 🙂
Well I suppose they have the staff if they need trimming!
Seeing the rhododendrons out in otherwise dark woodland is one of my guilty pleasures too. Yet another plant that has become a victim of its own success.
The vibrancy of the colours always amazes me, I just want to feast my eyes while they’re at their best.
